As broadcast on May 21, 2011 at 0130 UTC on the frequency of 920 khz, Grosse Pointe Gardens
is a remote broadcast program of pirate radio station Grosse Pointe A.M. radio which operates
every Saturday night in the Grosse Pointe area, which is a suburb of Detroit, MI. Audio of
this radio broadcast was taken directly off of a vintage 1950's Collins R-388 permeably
tuned superhetrodyn receiver. The announcer with his vast knowledge of 1940's swing bands, takes
the radio listener on a musical journey to experience what it was like in a dance hall from that
era. With the use of low quality sound effects to give the impression of crowd noises and
applause, the program sometimes sounds corny but with good intentions.
